Icy Conditions Will Return In Some Spots In Fairfield Overnight

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A day that began with treacherous travel caused by icy conditions that resulted in numerous accidents and road closures and was followed by flooding in some parts of the area will revert back to icy conditions overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Precipitation will be tapering off through midnight, but many surfaces and roadways will remain moist, resulting in untreated surfaces becoming icy as temperatures slowly fall, the weather service said.

Motorists and those venturing out overnight should be alert for black ice, the weather service advised.

The outlook for Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is partly sunny with a high between 36 and 38 degrees.
