Memorial Day Thunderstorm Chance, Enhanced Fire Risk In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The arrival of warmer temperatures -- and a chance of thunderstorms on Memorial Day -- mark the forecast for the holiday weekend.

After temperatures dipped into the 40s overnight into Saturday, the high temperature for the day should reach the mid 60's under sunny skies.

With humidity values dropping to between 15 and 30 percent Saturday through early evening and wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour, the National Weather Service is warning of enhanced fire risk conditions through Saturday night.

The real warmup is set for Sunday with a high temperature of around 76 expected under sunny skies.

Memorial Day will be partly sunny with a slight chance of thunderstorms after noon and a high temperature of around 80.
