Manny Ramos, 35, was a coach cleaner for Metro-North but was training to become an engineer when the incident happened. He said the stress from the training is what caused him to act in such a lewd manor, the Connecticut Post said.

In the incident in January 2014, a passenger said a man was masturbating in front of her on a New Haven-bound rush-hour train near the Fairfield station. The train was stopped and searched, and then a police manhunt ensued in the area around the station.

Ramos, who matched the victim's description, was found on the Unquowa Road bridge over the station and arrested.

Ramos pleaded guilty to fourth-degree sexual assault, public indecency and second-degree breach of peace. On Monday, he received a two-year suspended sentence and three years of probation and must register as a sex offender, the Connecticut Post reported.
