FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A motorcycle crash, a ranking of the top high schools in the area and a pedestrian killed on I-95 are among the top news stories in Fairfield County this week, in case you missed them.

A 27-year-old Newtown woman was killed in a motorcycle accident on Currituck Road in Newtown on Sunday evening. Jackie Schulz was wearing a helmet when her 2010 Harley Davidson Sportster hit a utility pole. Friends later set up a GoFundMe to help her 4-year-old son.

Four high schools in Fairfield County ranked among the Top 500 in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. Weston High School ranked at No. 2, Ridgefield High School ranked No. 4, Staples High School came in at No. 5, and New Canaan High School ranked No. 7. Four more high schools earned Silver rankings based on lower college readiness.

A pedestrian was killed on I-95 southbound near Exit 6 in Greenwich on Tuesday morning. The accident shut down all lanes of the highway and impacted traffic for miles. State police believed the person killed may have been hit by a large truck, and were seeking information from the public to identify the person killed and the driver.

An infant was found unresponsive on Monday at Greene Homes in Bridgeport, and died the next day. The infant boy's death was later ruled a homicide, the city's eighth of the year.

Cricket Car Hop is nearing completion in Stratford, with the restaurant eyeing an opening in late May or early June. The original Cricket was open from 1955 to 2004, giving generations of people a taste of its long dogs, iconic red relish, rib sandwich and Table Talk pies.

A new stock market-themed bar/restaurant has opened in Norwalk. The Market Bistro & Bar uses algorithms to allow customers to "day trade" drinks, with prices fluctuating according to what's selling.

A Norwalk man was charged with manslaughter after police responded to an assault and found a 49-year-old woman dead in her home. Police arrested 59-year-old Paul Bjerke, who lived there with the victim, 49-year-old Lisa Zemlock. Officials later determined her cause of death was blunt impact injury to her head during a homicide.

A New York City man was killed in a fiery crash in New Fairfield on Sunday. A pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Ulysses A. Nunez slammed into a utility pole and burst into flames on Route 39. It took several days for investigators to identify the driver.

A robber hit the same bank in Greenwich twice in two days. The robber, who was wearing a heavy coat and covering his face, hit the Chase Bank on East Putnam Avenue near Lockwood Lane on Tuesday before fleeing on foot. Several officers responded but were unable to locate him. He then returned to the same bank on Wednesday and robbed it again. The same robber is also believed to have robbed a Cos Cob gas station on Monday. Greenwich police mounted a manhunt Friday evening for him, going door-to-door after a chase on I-95, but the suspect eluded capture and was believed to have fled the state.

Daily Voice readers selected Fire Engine Pizza Company in Bridgeport as the best pizza in Fairfield County in the latest DVlicious contest. Fire Engine won with 44 percent of the vote, narrowly beating out Colony Grill, which received 43 percent.

It was a busy week for Greenwich Police, who responded to Helen Binney Kitchel Natural Park on Wednesday after park employees found human remains while clearing debris from a wooded area. A representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the remains were not from a recent event. The remains are still under investigation.
