Fairfield Residents Perform In Westport Playhouse's 'Guys And Dolls Jr.'

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Music Theatre of Connecticut School of the Performing Arts will stage two performances of "Guys and Dolls Jr." this weekend.

The production will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court (off Post Road East) in Westport.

Set in 1950s New York City, "Guys and Dolls Jr." is based on Damon Runyon's stories of lovable thugs and their long-suffering girls. This cornerstone of the musical comedy stage that continues to delight audiences over fifty years after its Broadway premiere.

Featuring the songs "Luck be a Lady," and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat," this musical is the perfect balance of story, dance, music and romance. The musical is a fully staged and costumed production performed by MTC students. Directed by MTC co-founder Jim Schilling, with choreography by Sarah Pero, costume design by Diane Vanderkroef and set design by David Heuvelman.
