“Connecticut’s Veterans Hall of Fame is one way we honor our veterans and highlight just how important they are to our communities and our nation,” said Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman in a press release. “Even after years of service in our Armed Forces, these men and women continue to give back, investing their time and energy in our communities and our future. We are so appreciative and grateful to them and their families.”

Among the requirements to be nominated, a nominee must have been born or have resided in Connecticut for at least five years. A nominee also must be defined as a veteran according to the Connecticut General Statutes 27-103; and must have received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces.

“This award honors those veterans who left the military and continued to make contributions to their communities,” said Linda Schwartz, Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner, in a press release. “The Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame has honored many fine men and women who kept serving long after they wore the uniform. Their accomplishments have enriched our state in countless ways. We hope people will take this opportunity to recognize a veteran that they know.”
