The recalled products were made before Nov. 8, 2016, and distributed to U.S. and Canadian retail outlets. They have a “Best Before” date through Jan. 23, 2017, said the federal Food and Drug Administration.

Consumers who are concerned they purchased one of the recalled products can find the date on the lid of each package, and should throw out the potentially contaminated products.

The recalled products include a large range of products across Sabra's line, including hummus with red pepper, garlic, lemon, spinach and artichoke, and more.

Sabra products not included in the recall are Sabra Organic Hummus, Sabra Salsa, Sabra Guacamole and Sabra Greek Yogurt Dips.

Sabra, which is headquartered in White Plains, identified Listeria monocytogenes at one of its manufacturing facilities in Virginia, according to the FDA. Sabra said the recall was issued out of an abundance of caution.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems, according to the FDA.

Healthy people may experience such symptoms as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Founded in Queens, N.Y., in 1986, Sabra Dipping Co. is one of the top sellers of refrigerated dips and spreads and the producer of America's top-selling hummus.
