Slow-Going Traffic Reported Tuesday Evening Across Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- No major accidents were reported during Tuesday's rush hour in Fairfield County, but a sea of brake lights continues for miles on I-95, I-84 and the Merritt Parkway, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Delays on northbound I-95 were reported for 22 miles from Exit 6 in Stamford and north through Darien, Norwalk, Westport and Fairfield up to Exit 27 in Bridgeport, DOT said. 

On the northbound Merritt Parkway, traffic congestion was reported for 23 miles from Exit 34 in Stamford and north through New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport and Fairfield to Exit 51 in Trumbull, DOT said. 

On eastbound I-84 in Danbury, traffic tie-ups were reported for 3.5 miles from Exit 4 to Exit 7, DOT said.
