FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- It may officially be spring, but a burst of snow could create travel headaches in the form of black ice in Fairfield County on Tuesday night, according to Accuweather.com .
Clouds will cover the area throughout Tuesday with high temperatures reaching only 38 degrees. Snow will roll into the area later in the evening and into Wednesday morning with up to 3 inches possible.
Temperatures will hover around the freezing mark Tuesday afternoon when the precipitation comes into the area before dropping below freezing around midnight, which could create black ice on road surfaces.
The chance of precipitation from Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning is 76 percent, Accuweather said.
The forecast for Wednesday is to become gradually mostly sunny, with a high near 35 degrees. It will be breezy, with a northwest wind 13 to 22 mph, and gusts as high as 33 mph.
