Storm Knocks Out Power In Fairfield

Updated, 9:30 p.m. FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating Co. are reporting thousands of customers without power across Fairfield County because of a severe thunderstorm.

Here's the breakdown of CL&P outages throughout the county:

• Darien: 7

• Greenwich: 158

• New Canaan: 2

• Norwalk: 1,485

• Redding: 1,066

• Ridgefield: 1,240

• Stamford: 114

• Weston: 762

• Westport: 135

• Wilton: 724

United Illuminating reported these outages:

Easton: 384

Fairfield: 531

Coming home last night at about 8:30 I saw at least six and possibly as many as 10 utility trucks headed north on I-95 between Exits 17 and 18. So someone got hit hard.

Just when I thought we were home free we just lost power, I don't think it's even raining anymore!!

we only got intermittent moderate rain, w/ some T&L - none of the high winds that were predicted (thank God). never lost power (ditto)
