Thunderstorms Likely In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A slow moving cold front will be bringing rain and thunderstorms starting Sunday afternoon and likely continuing through Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Association.

Rain and thunderstorms should begin after noon Sunday, with a high near 78. Some of the rain could be heavy and result in flash flooding. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Into Sunday night, showers continue with a chance of thunderstorms, with a low around 62. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. 

Monday morning also may bring showers with a chance of thunderstorms and a high near 72. Another round of storms is expected later Monday afternoon through the evening.

Some parts of the area could receive as much as 4 inches of rainfall before the system winds down Tuesday morning.
