Train Strikes Person Near Metro-North Station In Scarsdale

SCARSDALE, N.Y. — A person was hit by an non-service Metro-North train on the Harlem Line early Tuesday at the Scarsdale station, the railroad confirmed.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m., a person was struck by the train at the Scarsdale Metro-North train station, prompting 10- to 15-minute delays that lasted several hours. According to Metro-North officials, southbound trains were running near the normal schedule by 7:30 a.m.

The victim was transported to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment. The person's condition was not immediately available.

The investigation into the accident in Scarsdale was ongoing, Metro-North said.
