UPDATE, 2 p.m.: Fairfield Police say Taylor was found earlier Friday afternoon. They thank everyone for their concern and their help in the search.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Fairfield Police are asking for help finding a missing 17-year-old girl. Taylor Rubinstein has not been seen or been in contact with her family since Thursday afternoon.

Taylor’s mother, a Tunxis Hill Road resident, called police Thursday evening to report Taylor missing. She was last seen at around 2:45 p.m. in Fairfield Center. Her car is still parked in the area, but her whereabouts are unknown. She has not contacted her family since Thursday, and she left her cell phone at home.

Taylor is described as a white female, 5-feet-6, weighing about 155 pounds. She has blue eyes and purple hair. She was last seen wearing a dark, short-rimmed, flat-topped cap, a black wool waist-length jacket, a V-neck blue hooded T-shirt, dark jeans and personally decorated high-top Converse sneakers.

Family members told police that she has a history of depression and may have taken the train into New York City and be near New York University’s Greenwich Village campus. Anyone with any information should contact the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau at (203) 254-4840.
