Valhalla Train Tragedy Legal Claims Total More Than $325M

VALHALLA, N.Y. – Lawsuits filed in association with the February Metro North train crash in Valhalla have claims totaling more than $325 million, lohud.com reported.

So far, there are 34 potential lawsuits in the works, according to lohud.com.

Six people died in the crash, including a woman whose SUV was struck by the commuter train.

A lack of full crossing gates across the tracks and the state Department of Transportation not following through with planned safety improvements may hold the state liable for paying related lawsuit damages, said Manhattan attorney Philip Russotti in a previous Daily Voice article.
