FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield will hold a townwide vigil Monday night to remember the victims of the Newtown school shooting . The vigil will begin at 5 p.m. on Sherman Green, rain or shine.
“The Board of Selectmen understands that it is important that the community have the opportunity to come together as a whole to grieve, as well as to support the survivors of the tragedy and our very own first responders who were there in Newtown Friday,” First Selectman Michael Tetreau said in an email.
The vigil will feature community leaders and spiritual leaders of different faiths. There will also be a collection of Teddy bears for survivors of the incident.
All residents are invited. Sherman Green is at the intersection of Post and Reef Roads.
