George Knapp of Shoreham Village Drive experienced a rude awakening early Friday, and as a result he and his wife ended up in jail.
George, 41, told police that he was asleep at about 5:21 a.m. when his wife, Tracy, 37, came into their bedroom intoxicated and began jumping on the bed and yelling. To get her to stop, George admitted to pushing her off the bed, causing a bruise on her head and an injury to her right shoulder.
Tracy then called police to make a complaint. Fairfield police arrested both on charges of disorderly conduct. Their 4-year-old son, asleep in the house at the time, was turned over to his grandmother. Both parents were released on a promise to appear in court Friday morning.

? A local man came up with a novel way to catch the bus but ended up paying much more than the usual fare. Just before noon Thursday, a Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority driver told police that a black male pounded on the bus's door while it was waiting at the light at the Old Post Road and the Post Road, breaking the window. The man told police that he was standing at the bus stop just up the road, and the driver did not stop to let him on. He agreed to pay the estimated $300 to repair the window.
