Winning Cash5 Lottery Ticket Sold at Gas Station in Fairfield

FARIFIELD, Conn. -- Wheels CITGO of Fairfield sold a winning Cash5 ticket, with a prize of $100,000 to Knia Riles-Mathis of West Haven.

“Let’s go to Wheels in Fairfield and play the numbers,” Riles-Mathis said to her husband.

Riles-Mathis was unsure of which numbers to play, but her daughter helped her pick the winning numbers: 7 – 15 – 16 – 27 – 28.

“My husband works very hard—I just want my family to be happy,” Riles-Mathis said to Lottery officials. She plans to assist her mother with bills, and treat herself to a manicure.

“I’m a simple woman—I haven’t had one in seven years!" said Riles-Mathis.

The Wheels CITGO on 2047 Post Road will receive a $1,000 check from the CT Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
