The incident took place around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday when the unidentified woman hit the accelerator instead of the brake when attempting to park in front of the Vision Center at the Plaza, said Monroe Police Capt. Keith White.

The woman, who was injured and transported to a hospital, was the only person in the vehicle. The store was closed at the time.

Brick along the front of the store, as well as the windows, were heavily damaged during the crash, White said.
