Albert Kerezsi, 79, Of Fairfield, Retired Firefighter

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Albert K. Kerezsi of Fairfield died Jan. 2. He was 79.

Kerezsi was a retired firefighter for the City of Bridgeport.

Born Aug. 29, 1933, in Bridgeport to Kalman and Julia Kerezsi, he was a lifelong Fairfield resident. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and received a degree in education from the University of Bridgeport.

Kerezsi served in the Marines Corps from 1953 to 1955. A fitness buff, he enjoyed his daily workout regimen, his family said. He also loved animals, particularly dogs.

He is survived by a niece, Lorraine (Fred) Buchholz, of Gilmanton, N.H. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Kerezsi.

A funeral service will be held at a later date. Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 126 Monroe Turnpike, Trumbull, CT 06611.
