Alice B. Rogers, 80, Worked At Fairfield's Carolton Hospital

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Alice B. Rogers of Bridgeport died Monday, Dec. 15. He was 80.

Rogers was  born in Crewe, Va., to Clinton and Dorothy Jefferson Rogers. She had been a resident of Bridgeport for more than 50 years.

She was employed at Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield as the executive in charge of housekeeping, with more than 50 years of service. She was a former disciple of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Rogers is survived by her brothers, Ernest Rogers and Walter Rogers of Bridgeport and Alfred Rogers of Virginia; sisters, Grace Smith and Florence Sparks of Bridgeport, Mary Dobson of South Carolina, and Shirley Rawlings of North Carolina; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a cousin/sister, Thelma Artis; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of Praise C.O.G.I.C. International, 45 Gregory St., Bridgeport. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Cathedral of Praise C.O.G.I.C. International, 45 Gregory St., Bridgeport. Interment will be at the Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley St., Bridgeport.
