FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Amelia Krafton Homa, 96, of Fairfield, wife of the late Alexander Homa, died Saturday, March 28.
Born in Lawrence, Mass., Homa was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed baking ethnic Hungarian pastries. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling. She grew up in St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a member of the Women's Guild.
She is survived by her six children, Kathleen Homa of Fairfield; Theresa Simko and her husband, Robert, of Mill Hill, S.C.; Patricia Donaldson and her husband, John, and Elizabeth Homa, all of Carrollton, Va.; Joseph Homa and his wife, Laura, of Bethel; and Richard and his wife, Deborah, of Carrollton, Va.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield Center. Visitation will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment is private.
