RICHMOND, Va. - Andrew S. Piretti of Richmond, and formerly of New York City and Fairfield, Conn., died Monday, Oct. 21. He was 72.
Piretti was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Bridgeport, Conn. to Silvio and Ann of Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory School and then proceeded to Georgetown University. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in economics, and immediately was hired by Columbia Records in 1962. He was with Columbia Records (which became Sony Music) for 43 years and retired as senior vice president of Planning and Administration. Upon retirement, he moved to Richmond, Va., where he was a founding member of Pirula Investments, a real estate development company.
Piretti is survived by his mother, Ann; brother, Robert (Mary) of New Jersey; sisters, Kathleen Allen (Peter) of Fairfield, Patricia Ostroske of Michigan; seven nieces and nephews; and 10 grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his father, Silvio.
Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Spear Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, Conn. Funeral Services will take place Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. directly at Holy Cross Church, 570 Tahmore Drive, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
