Ann Walsh Gaughan, 81, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Ann Walsh Gaughan, of Fairfield, died on Sunday, April 5. She was 81 years old.

Born in Scranton, Pa., on July 10, 1933, to John and Mary Walsh, she was a nurse at St. Vincent's Medical Center for 25 years, and until recently, worked for the St. Vincent's Wellness Center performing blood pressure and cholesterol screenings.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Sweeney and her husband Michael, of Indianapolis, Ind.; and Ann Michek and her husband Gary, of Shelton; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her twin sister, Alice Hart; and her special friend, Jackie McLaine. 

Gaughan was predeceased by her husband, John Gaughan Sr., whom she married in 1955; her two sons, Daniel Patrick Gaughan and John Gaughan Jr. a brother, John "Bud" Walsh and a sister, Mary Walsh McLaine.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Road, Fairfield.

Burial will be private in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
