Anne (McShane) Caddell, 88, Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Anne (McShane) Caddell, longtime resident of Fairfield County, died Saturday at her home in Marlborough, Mass. He was 88.

She was born in Legga, County Longford, in the Republic of Ireland and immigrated to the U.S. in 1947, arriving on her 20th birthday.

Caddell spent many years working at the Union Trust Company in New Canaan and then at the New Canaan Inn.

She was a member of Assumption Church in Westport for nearly 20 years and during her lifetime was able to make many trips back to Ireland.

She is survived by two children John M. of Camp Hill, Pa. and Maureen of Framingham, Mass. as well as two grandchildren and three sisters. Sister Catherine McShane and Sister Teresa McShane, both members of the  Daughters of Mary and Joseph, living in Los Angeles and Peggy McShane of Slough, England.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Assumption Church in Westport. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery in Norwalk. Visitation is Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk.
