Anne T. Sullivan, 88, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Anne T. Sullivan of Fairfield died Tuesday, Dec. 3. She was 88.

Sullivan was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Hartford, to Anna Leahy and John Tracy. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and in 1948 from St. Joseph's College in West Hartford where she earned her BS/RN degree. She worked as a school nurse in the West Hartford School system. She was a singer throughout her life and at St. Joseph's college she sang with the Metropolitan Opera baritone Cornell MacNeil. She was a past member of the choirs at St. Pius X Church and St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. She worked as a private duty nurse and served as Director of Infection Control at the Carolton Convalescent Hospital in the 1970's. She was a school nurse for the Westport Health District for over 15 years at Kings Highway Elementary School.

Sullivan is survived by her son, William L. Sullivan of Southport; daughter, Catherine S. O'Donnell (John) of Fairfield; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter T. Sullivan; son, John T. Sullivan; and grandson, Brendan Sullivan.

Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
