FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Anthony Samuel Russo of Fairfield died Monday, Aug. 26. He was 82.
Russo was born and raised in Houston, Texas, son of Samuel Anthony Russo and Josephine Giammalva Russo, he had been a Fairfield County resident for many years. He retired as president of the Rhone-Poulenc Basic Chemicals Company, previously a division of Stauffer Chemical Company where he had worked for 37 years. Following his retirement he served four years as president and CEO of the Coulton Chemical Company in Toledo, Ohio. He was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Fairfield where he served as a eucharistic minister. He was a longtime member of the Patterson Club.
Russo is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; sons, James O'Bryan (Lisa) of Newtown and Jonathan Russo (Tomoko) of New York City; two grandchildren; brother, Dr. Charles E. Russo (Sophie) of Houston, Texas; niece, nephews; and many cousins residing in the Houston, Texas area.
Calling hours are Friday, Aug. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr., Fairfield with the Rev. Msgr. Edward Scull officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
