FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Bertha Sophie Trojanowski, of Fairfield, died Feb. 2 at St. Vincent's Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 88.
Trojanowski was born March 16, 1924, in Southold, N.Y., to Charles and Sophie Krukoski. She worked in the purchasing department at Bridgeport Brass for many years before retiring as a purchasing agent from Lord Corporation.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Stanley Trojanowski; a son, Robert (Celeste Campos) Trojanowski, of Shelton; a brother, John Krukoski; a sister, Josephine Kwiatkoski; three granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Vladic and Thaddeus Krukoski; and two sisters, Gladys Fischer and Margaret Mallory.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home in Trumbull, Conn. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Fairfield. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
