Beth Davis, 57, Of Fairfield, Tutor, Mercy Learning Center

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Beth Davis of Fairfield died May 31. She was 57.

Davis was born Sept. 14, 1956, in Nashville, to Dugan and Rascoe. She graduated from Harpeth Hall in Nashville in 1974. She graduated from Brown University in 1978, and from the Thunderbird School, where she studied international business management.

She was a tutor at Mercy Learning Center for a decade, as well as serving as the chairman of the Board of Directors. The Beth Davis Scholarship Fund was created to recognize her leadership there. She also served as chairman of the President's Council of the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center. She was president of the Dwight School PTA, General Coordinator of the construction of the Sandcastle Playground, a frequent volunteer at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church Dogwood Festival, a member of the Brown University Alumni Club.

Davis is survived by her husband, Andy Gleeman; daughter, Emma Gleeman; son, Drew Gleeman; sisters, Anne and Pat; and brother Joe. She was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours are Wednesday, June 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A memorial service celebrating will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private.

Contributions in Beth's honor may be made to the Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport and the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield.
