FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Catherine Robstock Greenwood of Fairfield, formerly of Bridgeport and Westbrook, died Thursday, July 10. She was 88.
Greenwood was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of John and Katherine (Wilson) Robstock. She had been a longtime resident of Bridgeport and Westbrook, and had been a Fairfield resident for the last 10 years. She attended St. Augustine Grammar School, Lauralton Hall and Danbury State Teachers College. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Augustine's Cathedral and also volunteered to teach reading in various Bridgeport schools.
Greenwood is survived by her children, Thomas J. Greenwood Jr. of Bridgeport, John Greenwood (Diane) of Wayne, Pa., Chris Greenwood (Debby) of Trumbull, Jim Greenwood (Karen) of Fairfield, Katie O'Connell (Tucker) of Fairfield, and Frank Greenwood (Dee) of Wakefield, Mass.; 19 grandchildren; sisters, Sally Shea and Jean Sedensky; brother, Dick (Jane) Greenwood; and brothers-in-law, Stan Greenwood and Chuck Felix; sister-in-law, Helen Greenwood; and 37 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Thomas J. Greenwood Sr.; brothers-in-law, Dick Shea, Steve Sedensky, Bob Greenwood and John Greenwood (Charlotte); and sisters-in-law, Ruth Felix and Jenny Greenwood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 14, at 10 a.m. meeting at the Cathedral Church of St. Augustine, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield.
