McLevy was born in Bridgeport, the son of Ellwood and Eva McLevy. He had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. He owned McLevy Builders in Fairfield for 40 years. He was a lifelong member of the American Motorcycle Association.
McLevy is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginny) McLevy; children, Dr. Jennifer McLevy Bazzanella (John) of Memphis, Tenn., Joshua McLevy of Fairfield and Kimberly Garamella Tankersley (Ronnie) of Stockton, Calif.; two grandchildren; siblings, Pam Morse (Robert) of Madison, N.J., Carl McLevy, Dawn McLevy of Fairfield, Linda Frye (Richard) of Bolton and Malcolm McLevy (Donna) of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews. He was the predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours are Tuesday, May 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Road, Fairfield. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 28, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
