He was a son of the late Katherine Moran Vaugh and William Vaugh of Bridgeport.
Vaugh taught English and world history for 36 years at several area schools, including Bridgeport’s Central High School and Norwalk High School.
After retiring from teaching in 1992, he became the first manager of the Gaelic American Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary-Sue (Drew) Baricko of Stratford; one son, Christopher Vaugh of Fairfield; one brother, William (Edna) Vaugh of Trumbull; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Maureen Joos; and one daughter-in-law, Ileane Vaugh, preceded him in death.
Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave., Norwalk, CT 06854-2318.
