Clifford Voight Jr., 61, Former Fairfield Resident

SHELTON, Conn. — Shelton resident Clifford Voight Jr., formerly of Fairfield died Saturday, April 30. He was 61.

The eldest of five children born to Frances (Jones) Voight and the late Clifford Voight Sr., he was a member of the Word Covenant Church in Bridgeport and enjoyed playing bocce in Fairfield on the CHE team. He also enjoyed drawing and was a motorcycle enthusiast. 

He is survived by his mother; his daughter, Christina, and her husband David Ramos Sr.; his son, Casey Powers; his brothers, Lawrence, James and Theodore Voight; his sister, Patricia Pell; and his grandson, David Ramos, Jr. He also is survived by his girlfriend, Juana Ortiz, as well as his nephew, nieces and many other relatives and friends. 

Friends may greet his family Thursday, May 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield Center. 

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 6, with family and friends leaving the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Parish, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. 

Interment will follow at Park Cemetery in Bridgeport. 

Due to his sudden passing, Voight's family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to be made in care of the funeral home to help defray final expenses.
