FAIRFIELD, Conn. Doris Sara Vereb of Fairfield died June 15. She was 88.
Born Feb. 21, 1924, in Bridgeport, she was a lifelong Fairfield resident. Vereb attended Roger Ludlowe High School and was employed by Harvey and Lewis Opticians, Barkers Department Store and Medi-Mart.
During World War II, Vereb volunteered with the American Red Cross. She was married to the late Frank E. Vereb.
She is survived by a son, Scott M. Vereb, of Seymour, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Maria P. Vereb, of Stratford, Conn.; two brothers, Ormond Sara, of Shelton, Conn., and Philip (Mary) Sara, of Fairfield; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Vereb was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Joan Sara.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lesko and Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
