FAIRFIELD, Conn. ‒ Douglas Matthew Garni of Fairfield died Saturday, Feb. 23. He was 40.
Born in New York City, Garni had been a Fairfield resident since 1981. He graduated from Fairfield Prep and earned a degree in finance from Fairfield University. He worked as a financial analyst for many years and recently received a nursing degree and was beginning a career in the medical field. He volunteered as an EMT.
Garni is survived by his parents, Joe and Lin Garni of Fairfield; a sister, Brie Balducci (Tyler) of South Windsor; two nephews, and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents and a son, Spencer.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. All other services will be private.
