Duane 'Buck' LaViolette, 63, Fairfield Vietnam War Vet

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Duane "Buck" LaViolette of Fairfield died Jan. 20 at his home. He was 63.

He was born in Bridgeport to Lester and Ruth Choun LaViolette. He graduated from Bullard-Havens Technical High School in 1967. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War with the rank of E-5 from 1967 to 1971.

LaViolette worked at Avco Lycoming as a machinist for 30 years. He enjoyed karate and skiing. He also loved to cook, listen to music and take trips to Vermont.

He is survived by three brothers, Rick, Mark and Dreux LaViolette; and three nieces and five nephews.

A graveside service will held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Pistey Funeral Home in Stratford is handling arrangements.
