FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Eileen R. Haas, 80, a longtime Fairfield resident, died on Saturday, April 4.
Haas taught English at a number of local colleges and tutored at the Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport.
She and her husband, the late Gaylord R. Haas, led the Book and a Sandwich reading group at the Fairfield Library for more than two decades.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne and Judy Haas; two sons-in-law, Mike Freeman and Gordon Bigelow; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
Spear Miller Funeral Home, Bridgeport, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Learning Center, 637 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604, or Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, 724 Wolcott Ave., Beacon, NY 12508.
