FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Eleanor Peters Morse of Fairfield died March 10. She was 70.

Morse was born in New York City, and lived her early life Great Barrington, Mass. She later moved to Fairfield, where she attended Dwight School, and later, the Thomas School in Rowayton. She graduated in 1961 from Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Mass., and in 1963, from Bennett College in Millbrook, N.Y. After college, she attended Katherine Gibbs School in New York City, and worked as a researcher for the prestigious patent law firm of Pennie, Edmonds, Morton, Taylor & Adams.

After her marriage in 1968, she moved to Ohio with her family and spent three years in Perrysburg. During that time, she attended Toledo University, and was a member of the Toledo Junior League and Belmont Country Club. Upon returning to Fairfield in 1971, she volunteered many years of fundraising leadership and charitable work throughout the county. She was a member of the Sasqua Garden Club and, until most recently, served as president of Women-In-Finance, a high-performing Fairfield investment club.

Morse is survived by her husband, Skip Morse of Fairfield; brother, John C. Peters of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Murray H. Morse III of Fairfield, Stephen L. Morse (Jenifer) of Milford and Christopher P. Morse (Rawleigh) of Weston; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m. in St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 4670 Congress St., Fairfield. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Morse's memory may be made to the Fairfield Country Day School William B. Ely Scholarship Fund, 2970 Bronson Road, Fairfield, CT, 06824.
