Fannie Raisides, 83, Lifelong Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fannie Raisides, of Fairfield, wife and best friend of 52 years of Paul Raisides, died Monday, March 16, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was 83.

Born in Fairfield, the daughter of Anthony and Helen Tambakis, she had been a lifelong town resident. She was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and attended Bay Path Junior College in Massachusetts. Raisides was a member of the Marie Lafayette Chapter 111 Order of the Eastern Star and served as grand deputy for the State of Connecticut Order of the Rainbow for Girls.

Survivors include three loving children, Billie and Elaine Raisides, of Fairfield, and James Raisides and his wife, Vonda, of Marblehead, Mass.; three beloved grandchildren; a brother; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral liturgy will be held Friday, March 20, at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport with the Rev. Andreas Vithoulkas, Economos, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Thursday, March 19, from 5-8 p.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Road, Fairfield.
