Chelstowski was born March 26, 1925. She was one of the founders of The Rosary Guild at Holy Family Church, was a baby sitter for mothers who attended support meetings at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was active in the PTA. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Stratfield Unit 143 for 29 years.
Chelstowski is survived by her daughter, Nancy McCann (Jim) of Hartford: sons, Richard Chelten (Linda) of Beverly Hills, Mich., Brian Chelstowski (Eri) of Austin, Texas, Ray Chelstowski (Cathy) of Southport; four grandchildren; three great grandsons. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene "Gene" Chelstowski.
Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
