Francis 'Frank' P. O'Shea, 78, Of Fairfield, Navy Veteran, Worked For NBC

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Francis “Frank” P. O'Shea, 78, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, April 14.

He was the son of Patrick and Anastasia O'Shea

He was a U.S. Navy veteran

O’Shea spent his entire career working behind the scenes in various divisions of NBC. He managed logistics for many NBC productions, such as Republican and Democratic National conventions.

Through his work, O’Shea had the opportunity to visit many places to which the public is not permitted access, including private areas of the Vatican.

He also spent much time in the Middle East, filming many documentaries, and living with a Bedouin tribe for several weeks.

O’Shea was also a member of the Gaelic American Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rita Charlton O'Shea; two daughters, Tracy O'Shea Diamond of Mount Laurel, N.J., and Alison O'Shea of Fairfield; one brother, Richard (Judith) O'Shea of Shelton; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

One son, Brian; and three brothers, Patrick, John, and Daniel, preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield.
