Frank Anthony Martino, Sr., 78, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Frank Anthony Martino, Sr., 78, of Fairfield, husband of 55 years to Vivian Rosso Martino, died Friday, July 10.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Nov. 28, 1936, the was son of the late Emilio Martino and Mary Crocco Martino of Italy. He had been a resident of Fairfield for 50 years. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1955 and served in the National Guard for seven years. He was the owner and operator of Buy Rite Market and Giovanni's Delicatessen, and then a longtime manager for Porcelli's in Greenwich, Connecticut, where he retired after 20 years.

He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed watching sports, spending time with his family and friends, and his wife's cooking. He was a lifetime New York Yankees fan and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Martino; sons Frank A. Martino Jr., Robert A. Martino, daughter Laurie Martino-Humphrey; and a grandson, all of Fairfield; a sister of Port St. Lucie, Florida; a sister of New Fairfield, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Friends and family are welcome.
