Frank S. Zupsansky, 89, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Frank S. Zupsansky, 89, a lifelong resident of Fairfield, died on Jan. 18, at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. While fighting in Europe, he received the Purple Heart and was recognized with several distinguished medals of honor for his war efforts. He worked 36 years as a riveter for Sikorsky Aircraft before his retirement. He liked to travel to Canada and to spend time with his family.

In addition his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Cable Zupsansky, he is survived by his children, Gary Zupsansky and his wife, Donna, of Milford; Carol Merchant and her husband, Darrell, of Bethany; Daniel Zupsansky, and his companion, Tammy Olah, of Monroe; six grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Campos, of Fairfield and a sister-in-law, Violet Cable, of Shelton.

He was predeceased by a sister, Julia Gaydos.

A private graveside service will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
