George Boland, 80, Fairfield Resident, Realtor, Passionate Golfer

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- George E. Boland Jr., 80, a lifelong Fairfield resident, died Monday, Feb. 9.

Boland was the son of George Boland and Margaret (Curtin-Henry) Boland of Fairfield.

Boland was an avid golfer and a prominent Realtor for more than 50 years. He served his community in elected and volunteer positions including Representative Town Meeting, Board of Education and Board of Realtors.

He is survived by his children, Linda Boland (Jeff Wing), George Boland III (Jennifer Casazza Boland), Michael Boland, Sue Boland-Harter (Kevin Harter), Thomas Boland and Matthew Boland; six grandchildren, Megan and Malia Wing, Owen Harter, Sydney and Kaitlyn Boland and Lillian Boland. He is also survived by his former wife, Judith Boland-Caruso; brothers Patrick Boland and his wife, Eileen, and Larry Boland and his wife, Karen; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Brian Boland and sisters Kay Cotter (Fildes) and Patty Cyr.

Friends may call Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  A memorial Mass celebrating Boland's life will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will be private. Spear Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
