George Koszta, 96, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – George Koszta, 96, of Fairfield, died on Friday, Feb. 6.

He was born in Budapest, Hungary, to George and Victoria Kreisz Koszta, the oldest of three children.

He emigrated from Budapest to Caracas, Venezuela, in 1956 with his wife, Irma, where they lived for 13 years before moving to Fairfield.

He was a longtime retiree of General Electric. An avid reader who spoke four languages, he was also a crossword puzzle expert and loved music, singing and taking long walks on Jennings Beach.

He is survived by his wife, and his daughter, Christine, and her husband, Bill Trotter, of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road., Fairfield Center. Calling hours are at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
