FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Grace Marie Evanko of Fairfield died Saturday, March 2. She was 10.
Evanko was a fourth grade student at the Osborne Hill School. She loved playing with her friends, dancing, being creative and playing on the computer, her family said.
Evanko is survived by her parents Fred and Denise Sileo Evanko; brother, Riley; paternal grandparents Richard and Marie Evanko of Stamford and maternal grandmother Catherine Sileo of Norwalk; uncles and aunts Michael (Jennifer) Evanko, Richard (Maria) Evanko and Chris (Lucy) Gallo; and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Michael Sileo.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. directly at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr., Fairfield with burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Evanko family has asked for Memorial donations to be made to: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dept. of Pediatrics, Attn: Joy Fund, 1275 York Ave. # C900, New York, NY 10065. The Joy Fund provides support to the Child Life and Recreational program at MSKCC.
