Harold Levitz, 96, Former Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Harold Levitz, formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, Sept. 7. He was 96.

Levitz was born June 22, 1918, in New York, June 22, 1918, to Hyman and Anna (Mittleman) Levitz.

Levitz is survived by his children, Joel Levitz of Milford, Stuart Levitz of Orange; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Mildred (Berkowitz) Levitz; son Steven Levitz of Detroit, Mich.; and sister, Sylvia Grill.

Funeral Services are at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8 at Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St., New Haven with interment services to follow at the Ahavath Achim Cemetery, 250 Reid St., Fairfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Ct. Hebrew Academy, 261 Derby Ave., Orange, CT 06477. A Traditional Period of Mourning will be observed at 830 North Lakeview Drive, Orange.
