Hazel 'Peg' Flint, 95, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Hazel "Peg" Louise Flint of Fairfield died Oct. 14 at Carolton Convalescent Hospital. She was 95. 

Flint was born in West Virginia, one of 12 children born to William Dallas and Ida Blanch McClain. She lived most of her life in Salem, W. Va., and worked as a nurse at Salem College for 18 years. 

After the death of her husband, Howard Flint, she moved to Parish Court in Fairfield to be with her daughter and grandchildren. There, she developed many close friendships. 

Flint is survived by a sister, Mary Burnside, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a daughter, Joyce Corder (Stuart) Anderson, of Fairfield; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. 

Funeral services and burial will be private. Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield is handling arrangements. Cards of condolence can be sent to the family at 50 Smedley Road, Fairfield, Conn. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
