BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Italo Marandola of Bridgeport died Sunday, Nov. 3. He was 87.
Marandola was born May 7, 1926, in Ripi, Italy, son of Carlo and Rosa (Santarelli) Marandola. He worked for Marani Tile in Fairfield for many years and was a founder and member of the Circolo Sportivo Italian Club in Bridgeport.
Marandola is survived by his wife, Lucia (Fratarcangeli) Marandola; children, Marisa Giansanti (Michael), Frank Marandola and Carlo Marandola; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Iolanda Conciatori; brother, Gino Marandola; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home , 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m. directly in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Entombment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 2075 Silas Dean Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 in memory of Marandola.
