James D. Kiley, Sr., 61, Formerly Of Fairfield

GREENWICH, Conn. - James Donald Kiley, Sr., a resident of Greenwich for many years, died June 20. He was 61.

Kiley was born in the Bronx in 1952, son of Edward A. Kiley, Jr. and Helen (O'Connor) Kiley. He moved with his family to Fairfield in 1956, before settling in Greenwich in the early 60s. In 1966, he graduated from Sacred Heart School in Byram and in 1970 from Saint Mary's High School in Greenwich, where he was a baseball pitcher.

He attended Saint Leo University in Florida. In 1974 he graduated Magna Cum Laude, as a philosophy major. After college he continued his studies, pursuing an M.B.A. at Iona College and studying accounting. For most of his professional career, he served as an accountant or accounting director at a number of hospitals in New York and New Jersey. During the last several years of his life, he served with the Internal Revenue Service on Long Island.

Kiley is survived by his former wife, Brenda O'Shea Kiley of New Jersey; children, Jane E. Reilly (Keith) of Shaumong, N.J. and James, Jr. of Jersey City, N.J.; sister, Ann Kiley of Meriden; brothers, Edward (Mary) of Bel Air, Md., Francis (Monica) of Springfield, Va., and Robert (Michelle) of West Hartford; many nieces, nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins; and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Ellen Kiley Van Tine (Robert) of Port Chester.

Calling hours are Thursday, June 27 from 12 to 9 p.m. at the Leo Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 28 at Sacred Heart Church in Byram. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y.
