James Paules III, 40, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- James Breitegan Paules lll of Fairfield died on Oct. 7. He was 40.

He was involved in a two-car crash Oct. 7 on Route 8 in Trumbull and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Daily Voice reported.

Paules was born on Nov. 17, 1976, in Fairfield and was the oldest of six boys. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends, as well as his athleticism and passion for music. He was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He spent his time volunteering for the Thomas Merton Center.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Mimi Paules of Shelton; brothers Matt and wife Leslie, Derek and wife Jessica, Adam, Patrick and wife Talia, Brian, Henry Nevers and wife Theresa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Jim and Ruth Paules, George (Babe) Risley, Barbara Horvath; his sister-in-law Casey Chernes Paules and his longtime partner, Nancee Amedy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas Merton Center in his name. 

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield.
